Hey there! We are going to be discussing something pretty heady today — your values. These are your success value propositions that defines who you are and believes in.
Decide on what the core of you wants. Family, honesty, creativity or perhaps personal growth? Take some moments to reflect on this.
When I did this exercise myself, it was like a big slap in the face — oh my gosh! Your values will act as your compass, directing you in critical moments so that you can do what truly matters to YOU.

1.2. Set clear, long-term goals
Okay, now that you have your values set… let’s talk about setting some long-term goals. These are the huge dreams that you want to realise in your life.

Instead of stating, “I is actually a millionaire someday,” say to yourself the goal you have in mind aloud: “In five years I will save $100k. This way you will know exactly what to work towards.
1.3. Lesson #1: Craft Your Mission Statement
Your personal mission statement is a snapshot of who you are and your purpose. It is succinct, and it synthesizes your values into a meaningful phrase.
For example, mine is “To inspire and empower others through kindness and creativity. It is for this very reason that your mission statement will be the fuel which always keeps you on track and motivated, even when times get tough.
That’s another tip: if it takes a couple of tries to get everything down, no problem —as long as you have written something out!
2. Develop a Growth Mindset
2.1. Love the problems as well
Did You Know That Every Challenge Is Actually An Opportunity To Evolve? It’s true! Stop looking at the problems and issues in front of you as roadblocks… see them instead, I would challenge even for our current climate change situation, opportunities to learn how not to support this or have it happen again.
To be honest to you, the first time I spoke at a public event, my knees were shaking. Every time i tried it, I was a little bit closer. That anxiety-inducing shit was actually making me more comfortable and proficient.
2.2. Criticism and failure should teach you something
So let us level with each other – no-one loves critique or getting it wrong. Except, well, they are — and aren’t we glad about it! Listen to others when they offer you feedback and do not get defensive. Rather, allow yourself to hear the feedback and question whether there is truth within it? And failures?
They are but a means to an end. So when things don’t work out every time, you are closer to the one that works. It’s all part of the journey!

2.3. Build resilience and persistence
Success Man, life… it can be a bitch sometimes, right? This is why resilience and persistence matter so much You get back up when the going gets tough — that is resilience… …personally, I think it takes a lot more to persevere. It’s making it harder and making it worth more.
Work to cultivate those qualities by setting achievable small goals and relishing in each piece of your journey. Do remember every little step counts!
3. Invest in Continuous Learning
3.1. Read widely and regularly
You need food to live, your brain needs reading. Whether books, articles or blogs — as long it is you are reading regularly! Attempt to investigate other subjects and classes.
You never know when a topic might hit differently and you find new joy in it. Reading is something I truly enjoy so I also try to read about 15 minutes a day. , You can really learn a lot over time!
3.2. Attend workshops and seminars
Just because you leave school, doesn’t mean learning stops. There is so much to learn and improve through gateways.
Find some workshops or seminars in subjects that interest you and may help your career. So, they are a great opportunity to network and meet likeminded people also.

3.3. Seek mentorship and guidance
It can help with personal development and also career progression it is a game changer!! Mentor: A person who has been where you want to go and they can give guidance, support throughout the journey.
Find a male role model, whether it be in your area of work or personal life. Just remember – mentorship doesn’t have to be formal — it can simply manifest itself as regular coffee chats or email exchanges. All you have to do is be open & ready and apply their advice.
