Hello my fellow tech geeks This time, we will talk about the buzzword in gadgets today — Smart watch. They are nifty little things, and have been creating a bit of buzz… but all that hype? So without further ado, all the good and bad in these digital timepieces but together.

1. Health and Fitness Tracking

1.1. Continuous monitoring of heart rate

Of course, the coolest thing about many smartwatches is they can keep tabs on your ticker. It’s like having your own little doctor on you wrist! When I first started wearing mine, it was crazy to me that this smartwatch could monitor my heart rate all day.

It pretty a lot provides you real-time insights as to how your coronary heart price is affected by totally different actions — be it mendacity on the sofa or darting off for 1,000mph seize of that bus.

  1. “It’s A Personal Health Assistant That Never Takes a Day Off!”

However, it is not all great. This health data can be overwhelming sometimes. Definitely have my sprees of obsessing over every little heart rate blip. Just keep in mind that these devices are not flawless, and cannot substitute for regular visits to your physician. Readmore:Best smart watch under 5000

1.2. Track steps and activity levels

Tracking your steps has been another huge trend in recent years. Makes you want to move around the day more! But, If I’m working from home and need steps in for the day—I will seriously take the stairs instead of an elevator. Kind of like a little game you are playing with yourself!

But step count is only one aspect of the activity tracking story. Many smartwatches can now track various types of exercises, from running to swimming. It is will be a very nice experience to see your workout fitness break don low after you have finished. But again, it’s not perfect.

Every once in a while my watch thinks I am riding, when all that is bumping around Is me being driven somewhere!

2. Active Communication and Connectivity

2.1. Real time notifications and alerts

It’s really useful to get wrist notifications. Stop deep in your bag for digging out that phone every time you buzzes. Somehow, that message is no longer important when I check my wrist to see if it requires action.

In fact, it can also be a problem as we are always connected. You are always, you feel like the world owns you and it is difficult to get away. This has forced me to learn self control for using features like the “Do Not Disturb” mode.

2.2. Alexa Calling & Messaging

It is pretty nice to be able to answer calls and text back without having to take out my phone. You will be glad to have them when you are in the kitchen, driving or grocery shopping. I did feel a little like I was on an undercover explorer mission, broadcasting into my wrist.

But come on, it doesnt always sound the best and typing on that tiny screen is a pain sometimes. I will admit, the small keyboard and autofill had caused me to send my fair share of non-sense messages;)

3. Convenience and Productivity

3.1. Quick access to information

It is extremely convenient to get vital info at a single glance. It can even show weather updates, calendar reminders and news headlines on your wrist — really cool! I also enjoy the ability to check my watch for a quick weather snap before stepping outside.

The downside? It can be overwhelming at times. There are updates from everyone on your watch, so you’ll never get bored!

3.2. Digital Assistants which can be controlled via voice

This makes a great wrist band even with voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant. This means you can set reminders or ask for directions, and even control your smart home equipment just using your voice. We will be living in the future!

However, these assistants are, however you look at it not all that perfect. I’ve certainly felt a tad ridiculous repeating the same phrase a number of times over for my watch to actually get it. And in public? OK, you may not want to talk into your wrist too much!

4. Style and Customization

4.1. Interchangeable watch faces

I think one of the fun thing for smartwatches is that you can go from sport to vintage watch face in split seconds. It’s basically a brand new watch every day! I enjoying changing from a standard analog face for the work week to something more adventurous and colorful on weekends.

The downside? So many choices sometimes it’s difficult to decide! Also, some of the sexy watch faces can be battery hogs.

4.2. Variety of strap options

Most smartwatches have swappable straps like a traditional watch. Not only this, it is an excellent method to style up your fashion game or pair the watch with various attires. I have a leather band for anything formal and the silicone one when I work out.

The only problem? Durable straps can get expensive and the budget options may not be able to survive lots of use. That is most certainly something to think about when setting aside cash for your smartwatch. Readmore:How to use smart watch with phone

5. Battery Life and Charging

5.1. Daily charging requirements

This is the part where stuff gets a little frustrating. Every smartwatch still needs charging about once a day or two depending on your use. Well, that’s another thing to add to your nightly charging routine.

I’ve for sure been there when I forget to put my watch on the charger and it is just beat by noon. If you depend on it to count your steps or tell you that important call came in; I find myself getting a tad frustrated.

5.2. Power-saving modes

Most smartwatches have battery-saving modes to preserve the life of a single charge. It will add longer battery life to yours by disabling some functions. That is good for when you are about to die, or whatever.

Of course, the trade-off here is that you give up some control in terms of features. At that point you may as well just have a normal watch, which rather defeats the object of having a smartwatch.
